Three easy steps to even marriage joints

In problem areas slip pre-assembled bracket over the perimeter joists, at the marriage joint. Screw the large angle to the lower of the two joists. Screw the smaller angle to the higher joist (using 9 #12 x 1-1/2" screws provided).

Loosen nut no. 1 to allow for adjustment. Use wrench to tighten nut no. 2. As you tighten the nut, pressure is applied to both joists in the proper direction.

After adjusting, lock in place by tightening the nuts on both sides of the angle. To reduce the chance of movement, and to provide for future adjustments, leave brackets installed.

Safety Note:

Use proper safety precautions before installing the Marriage Joint Adjustment Bracket. Be cautious of the following hazards: Electrical cables, gas lines and plumbing pipes.

To ensure that nothing interferes with a successful installation of the Marriage Joint Adjustment Bracket, avoid areas like: Splintered or rotting floor materials, knots in application joints and insulation.
